Administration
Plans
The National Parks Police aim to protect
the land, ecology, the environment while
providing rescue efforts in disasters. Besides
the ordinary police assignments, the National
Parks Police is there to maintain order,
prevent disaster, conserve natural resources,
conserve the environment and service the
population in the national parks. The institutional
duties assigned to this agency are
1. Public order and rescue in disasters
in the national parks.
2. Protection of the natural resources
and environment in the national parks.
3. Assistance rendered to enforcing the
law in national parks.
4. Other police regulations and affairs.
Service standards
1. Fully realize the service mission of
customer first, promote single-counter operations
with 24 hour service, and provide convenient
and comforting services.
2. Simplification and lowered turnaround
time with higher service speed for application
cases.
3. The brigade requests that both office
and field personnel should pick up calls
from the public as soon as possible (within
four rings). When they answer they should
report their department or name, greet the
caller, and then say goodbye or use polite
language when ending the conversation. Receiving
(listening) personnel must speak clearly,
kindly, and tirelessly explain things to
the people, and the content shall be detailed;
they shall actively inform callers of related
information.
4. Appoint specially designated personnel
to actively collect media information and
public opinions to understand issues of
the people.
5. Various departments of the brigade shall
process various pleas or suggestions from
people made in various means (mail, telephone,
fax, e-mail) in a prompt manner.
6. Service personnel shall be dressed appropriately
and wear identifications, and implement
a proxy system. If service personnel are
out on business or leave, they shall clearly
inform their job proxies of work items.
Future efforts
The national park business is a holistic
service business. It not only has the mission
of ecological preservation, but also has
the responsibility of educating the public.
Thus the future efforts of the brigade seek
to provide excellent environments for the
public to relax without fear, and expand
its services to natural environmental education,
so that people can relax at the national
park but also learn more about natural laws
and attitudes that respect nature, making
them outstanding tourists. It is further
hoped that the service of national park
police can promote social harmony and progress.
Future efforts of the brigade are listed
as follows:
1. In coping with the “knowledge economy
era” of the 21st century, the know-how and
various professional knowledge training
for this department will be enhanced to
improve upon the service aspect.
2. Fully digitized service system:
(1) In accordance to the Research, Development
and Evaluation Commission of the Executive
Yuan’s “Establishment of XML-Box Project,”
an official document exchange system between
the brigade and its police teams; this shortens
the administrative flow.
(2) In order to meet the objective of the
Executive Yuan in internationalizing official
documents, official documents shall now
be written horizontally. The brigade will
also establish the “text editing network
service integration system” project, which
allows the various departments of this brigade
to complete the production and integration
of documents on a common service platform.
(3) Appropriately update the website of
the brigade and establish various police
brigade websites, providing tourists with
information needed while enjoying facilities
of the national parks, in turn providing
a safe environment so that people can enjoy
their experiences here.
(4) Appropriate use of social resources
and connections with private resources to
realize emergency rescue.
(5) Enhance care stations with jurisdiction
over residents and elderly who live alone
in remote areas. Along with mountain area
preservation patrolling, there shall be
visits to the mountains to understand living
conditions and actual needs. There shall
be regular tracking and timely service and
care.
(6) Implement conservation of natural resources
to achieve the goal of sustainability.
